This month, members and guests boarded the Tamalpais for a waterfront tour of San Francisco’s most significant development projects—both underway and on the horizon.

The cruise featured project overviews and stories shared by development teams behind major projects along the shoreline, including Pier 40, Oracle Park/Mission Rock, Chase Center, Pier 70, Potrero Power Station, and Pier 80.

The 3rd Annual Pickleball Tournament was a fantastic day of spirited competition, networking, and fun. Players of all levels brought great energy to the courts, while spectators cheered on and enjoyed the lively atmosphere.

The NAIOP San Francisco Bay Area Chapter hosted its 19th Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, July 14^th at the scenic and storied Sequoyah Country Club — a course celebrated for its sweeping vistas, classic charm, and tree-lined fairways. It was a fantastic day filled with friendly competition, meaningful connections, and plenty of sunshine.

The NAIOP San Francisco Bay Area Chapter hosted its Annual Commercial Real Estate Finance Panel on July 10, 2025, drawing a strong crowd of over 100 industry professionals to CBRE’s beautiful 181 Fremont venue for an afternoon of market intelligence, expert commentary, and lively networking.

NAIOP San Francisco Bay Area hosted its annual Spring Industrial Breakfast on May 15 at The Overlook in Oakland, bringing together members of the commercial real estate community for a timely discussion on AB98 and its potential impact on industrial development across California.

On April 21^st NAIOP SFBA hosted the 36^th Annual Real Estate Challenge at the InterContinental Hotel in San Francisco. Cal and Stanford duked it out again to determine whose development plan would win the coveted Golden Shovel award! This year’s development project was Hunter Point and Candlestick Park, as part of a bid to host the Expo World's Fair 2035 in San Francisco. Coaching the Cal team to victory was Bill Falik, Managing Partner, Westpark Communities and Abigail Franklin, UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business. Team members included Ashley Gaur, Kendenn Rose, Dan Whelan, Joe Wilson, and Sirui Zhou.

NAIOP SFBA held its 11th Annual Best of the Bay Awards on Thursday, March 13^th at the historic Julia Morgan Ballroom. Luis Belmonte was back as master of ceremonies employing his famous gong.

Lively and upbeat, the Best of the Bay is a unique commercial real estate awards competition which features attendees picking the winners in real time using keypads. As each award is introduced nominees give a creative pitch to steer votes in their direction. If they fail to wow the audience or drone on too long, they are gonged!
