While the past year was interesting, to say the least, commercial real estate development is still going strong in the Bay Area. New developments in life science are popping up in exciting markets, while office remains one of the Bay Area’s strongest CRE attractions. Join NAIOP SFBA for our first ever Virtual Bus Tour on May 25, 2021. We’ll be joined by some of the Bay’s leading developers from Jay Paul Company, TMG Partners, and Wareham Development as we take a virtual video tour of their marquee projects in San Francisco, Oakland, and Emeryville. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about specific challenges, successes, and predictions for the CRE industry through a live Q&A with the developers.

Featured Projects:

5959 Horton Street - Emeryville
Wareham Development
(EmeryStation West Campus)

Wareham Development has been the premier developer, owner and property manager of research laboratories, office and tech space in Emeryville and the East Shore since 1977. An international hub of headquarters for research, its 2-million square foot EmeryStation campus set the bar for development throughout the city beginning with projects such as the Amtrak Intermodal Transit Center through the renovation or construction of 14 more buildings through the years to the completion of the celebrated EmeryStation West research and transit center. The campus provides abundant amenities, award-winning architecture, transportation options, lush gardens and art, exercise facility, and conference facilities.

300 Lakeside Drive - Oakland
TMG Partners

As the future home of PG&E's new Oakland headquarters, the utility company will lease 600,000 square feet of vacant space at 300 Lakeside — which, at 975,000 square feet, is Oakland's largest office project — and eventually occupy the entire building as existing leases expire. PG&E's long-term lease also includes an option to buy the building from TMG in 2023. Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf said in a statement that the acquisition is "good news for the vitality [of] downtown Oakland" as the city begins its recovery from the economic downturn induced by the COVID-19 pandemic.

181 Fremont Street - San Francisco
Jay Paul Company

Standing over 800 feet tall and 70 stories, 181 Fremont offers un-compromised views of the San Francisco Bay and its urban waterfront environment. This distinctive mixed-use high-rise is comprised of 432,000 sf of Class A office space and is also home to 181 Fremont Residences, 55 ultra-luxury residences on the top 17 floors of the tower. The building’s unique exoskeleton structural system provides column-less interiors for maximum space planning flexibility and an enhanced skyline expression, adding a dramatic focal point to San Francisco’s downtown.
