Diversity in CRE

Vision

An inclusive culture in NAIOP San Francisco Bay Area Chapter (NAIOP SFBA) and the Bay Area Commercial Real Estate community that embraces diversity as both a core value and a driver for success.

Mission

NAIOP SFBA believes that individuals and businesses achieve the best outcomes in environments that embrace a diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints. The mission is to provide leadership, infrastructure, and a forum to share perspectives and best practices, in order to foster a culture of diversity and inclusion in all aspects of NAIOP SFBA’s work and in our broader Bay Area Commercial Real Estate community.

I.D.E.A. Committee Charge

To ensure that this commitment is carried out, NAIOP SFBA has established the I.D.E.A. Committee (standing for Inclusion, Diversity, Equality, and Accountability) whose charge is to ensure that diversity and inclusion are considered in all organization activities, actions, and decisions. The Committee will also work to develop and execute additional programs or resources for the Chapter where a need is identified. They will also work to identify opportunities to work together with NAIOP National or other Chapters or outside commercial real estate organizations who share similar goals.

ARGUS Certification Diversity Scholarship

NAIOP San Francisco Bay Area Chapter is offering a scholarship program for ARGUS Enterprise* Software Certification through the NAIOP Center for Education. This certification is often a required entry-level skill for commercial real estate analyst positions, particularly in asset management and acquisitions. It is our understanding that the high cost of obtaining this certification may create a barrier for otherwise qualified candidates who may not have the access or resources to obtain it. Therefore, we are launching this new scholarship to support women and underrepresented minorities to initiate or further their careers in commercial real estate.
