NAIOP SFBA hosted a Data Center Market Overview as it’s March 11th Zoom-In Webinar. The event consisted of an in-depth discussion on the state of digital real estate and what drives fundamentals in this thriving market sector. Moderated by Michael Hochanadel, Head of Digital Real Estate, Harrison Street, the program featured a candid conversation with four of the top data center deal makers active in the Bay Area market and beyond. Panelists included: Aaron Wangenheim, T5 Data Centers; John Sheputis, Managing Director, GI Partners; Raul Saavedra, Senior Managing Director, JLL Capital Markets; and Mike Armstrong, Managing Director, Stream.
NAIOP San Francisco Bay Area Chapter is offering a scholarship program for ARGUS Enterprise* Software Certification through the NAIOP Center for Education. This certification is often a required entry-level skill for commercial real estate analyst positions, particularly in asset management and acquisitions. It is our understanding that the high cost of obtaining this certification may create a barrier for otherwise qualified candidates who may not have the access or resources to obtain it.
Applications for the scholarship are accepted online.
The deadline to apply is April 30, 2021.
Join NAIOP San Francisco for the 32nd Annual Real Estate Challenge on Thursday, April 29th as Cal faces off against Stanford for the coveted Golden Shovel. This year, the teams have been tasked with a development project for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). The site is located in San Jose between the Guadalupe River Trail and North First Street.
Courtney Trunnell is a Capital Markets and Investment Sales specialist who is passionate about bringing creativity to her work with clients and colleagues. In her role as Director with Cushman & Wakefield’s Northern California Capital Markets Investment Sales team, she has plenty of opportunity to do just that. “We like to call my role the Quarterback or Swiss Army Knife,” she said. “Every day is different. I oversee all of our marketing efforts, keep tabs on our workflow, coordinate due diligence, write copy for offering memorandums, work on pitches and whatever is needed to help win business, keep the team running smoothly, ensure the success of our marketing campaigns, and get deals closed.”

Amanda Bates is a commercial real estate professional who loves seeing developments come to life. She is Vice President, Bay Area Investments Lead at Kilroy Realty Corporation (NYSE: KRC), the renowned West Coast office and mixed-use developer, owner and operator. Bates is responsible for sourcing new investment ideas across the Bay Area and quarterbacking ground-up development projects from land acquisition, to construction, budgeting, lease up and stabilization. “Because I am involved in all aspects of projects, I get to work across departments internally,” she said. “I enjoy that collaboration immensely and it has given me a literal ‘ground up’ education in real estate development.” Her favorite part of her role is leading the disposition process and thinking strategically to get ahead of issues before they come up. She has executed on approximately 5 million square feet of office building sales during her time at Kilroy.
