The NAIOP SFBA Executive Development Program (NED) has officially begun and we are excited for the second cohort to take part in this exciting new offering from our Chapter. The program kicked off in May with a 3-day intensive retreat in Berkeley, where they met fellow participants, instructors and advisors and began their journey with the personal and professional development curriculum. The cohort will meet a total of six times for a combination of retreats and skills workshops concluding in December.

NAIOP San Francisco Bay Area Chapter (NAIOP SFBA) the premiere commercial real estate development association is proud to announce that the Cal team, Axe Associates, has won the organization’s 33^rd Annual Real Estate Challenge.

The Real Estate Challenge, NAIOP SFBA’s version of the Big Game, is a real estate development competition between legendary rivals Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley (Cal). The unique program is designed to give graduate students hands-on experience in real estate development. 

Madison DiNapoli is an acquisitions and asset management professional who is passionate about placemaking and community revitalization. As a member of the acquisitions and development team at Presidio Bay Ventures, she leads multiple deals within the firm’s robust portfolio of development projects in the San Francisco Bay Area and gets the opportunity to explore her passion for development daily.

Maxim Shapiro is a commercial real estate finance expert who is passionate about building relationships with people and helping turn their dreams into reality. Four years ago, he made a bold move in pursuit of a vision of his own. After spending over a decade in banking on the East Coast, he moved to the Bay Area (where he knew no one) and founded a capital advisory firm, Novateur Capital.

Adam Voelker is a seasoned development and investment professional who is passionate about building relationships. As Principal and Business Unit Leader for Trammell Crow Company (TCC) in Northern California he has the good fortune of surrounding himself with some of the best and brightest minds in the industry.

NAIOP San Francisco Bay Area Chapter is offering a scholarship program for ARGUS Enterprise* Software Certification through the NAIOP Center for Education. This certification is often a required entry-level skill for commercial real estate analyst positions, particularly in asset management and acquisitions. It is our understanding that the high cost of obtaining this certification may create a barrier for otherwise qualified candidates who may not have the access or resources to obtain it.

Applications for the scholarship are accepted online. 

The deadline to apply is April 30, 2022.

NAIOP SFBA has re-opened applications for the NAIOP Executive Development (NED) Program for 2022. The program will now commence in May 2022 in hopes to have lighter COVID restrictions and enhance the in-person elements of the course. The change in schedule has opened up several spots in this year’s cohort, so please apply by March 15th if you are interested in this opportunity. Pleasanton, CA: Millie and Severson is pleased to announce that Marvin Wheat has joined our Northern California Team as Vice President. In this role, Marvin will oversee Construction Operations for our Northern California region, continue to grow our business, develop and mentor talent, and position us for a stronger future.

Amanda Bates is Vice President and Portfolio Director for EQ Office. She runs the Northern California Region for the company and is responsible for market strategy through new investments, leasing, operations and value creation efforts in the throughout the region.
