President’s Message
I am honored to be your President for 2024. NAIOP means the world to me! The organization has been essential to my career development. My first deep dive in engaging with NAIOP SFBA was through the Young Professionals Group (YPG), a program in which I had the good fortune to participate in 2016. YPG made a profound impact on me. I went on to co-chair the Young Professionals Group Alumni Committee and the Membership Committee, and was later appointed to the Board.
On behalf of the NAIOP SFBA Board of Directors and the entire leadership team I want to share our vision statement which will flow through our annual agenda as well as our committees and our events.
Our vision is to be a trusted source and affiliation for commercial real estate:
It is with a heavy heart that we share that Awais Mughal recently passed away after a short illness. Awais was a steadfast supporter of NAIOP and had a lasting impact on our association in many ways. He joined the NAIOP San Francisco Chapter in 2009, and served as President in 2011. He was integral in bringing the Young Professionals Group (YPG) to the Bay Area and is one of the founders of the NAIOP Executive Development (NED) Program. Awais served many years on our local NAIOP Advisory Council, as well as local and national Board of Directors and various committees, sharing countless hours of wisdom, mentorship, laughter and memories with our community. His loss will be deeply felt.
In lieu of flowers, Awais' family has requested that those dollars be directed to the Contra Consta Food Bank, as Awais was a huge supporter. Click here to donate in Awais' honor.
